Brenda Schmitz was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer in 2011. She knew that her fate would not end happily, so before she died, she made sure that at the right time, her husband would receive a special gift from her.

Two months before she died, Brenda wrote a letter to a local radio station, which included a special program in which people’s wishes were fulfilled. The woman instructed her best friend to carefully store the paper and send it to its destination only when David, the man with whom she was married and had four children, falls in love again.

In 2013, Brenda’s letter reached the local radio station. Scott Allen, the station’s manager, says that since this program existed, more than 20 years ago, he has never read such an emotional letter.
It starts like this:
“Hello, my name is Brenda Schmitz.
When you read this letter, I will have lost the battle with ovarian cancer. I asked a good friend that once David rebuilt his life and met someone to start living with again, this letter would reach the radio station.
He is a wonderful father and husband. He made the best decision to find a loving woman to take care of our four boys. She must be an extraordinary woman, with a huge heart, if she has taken on the responsibility of such a large family.
The reason I’m writing to you is because I have a desire. I have a wish for David, for the boys and for his new wife and family, if she also has children. I want them to know that I love them very much and I want them to always feel protected in a world of pain. I was hoping that a small gesture that you can all make for me would be useful and change their lives forever and they would know that I will always be with them.
First of all, for David’s new life partner. A weekend full of pampering from all points of view. Deserve. Being a stepmother to four boys and, especially, taking care of little Max’s mother is not easy at all. Thank you, I love you, whoever you are.
For the whole family, I want them to enjoy a “magical” vacation that will help them build a strong bond between them.
And for the doctors at Marcy Medical Center, who took care of me while I was sick, I would like a night of relaxation in a place where they can relax at will.
God bless!”

David, Brenda’s ex-husband, heard all these words that made him happy and moved him to tears. Not only was he deeply moved, but so was everyone who heard the woman’s letter.

In addition to the fact that the radio team fulfilled Brenda’s last wish, the manager offered the whole family a trip to Disney World.
