Gabe was born in Brazil and was only 2 days old when his mother abandoned him in an orphanage.
His future seemed sad, it seemed that Gabe was destined for a lonely life on a hospital bed, the chances of being adopted were very low because he did not look like other children, Gabe was born without hands and feet.
Then one day, Janelle Adams, from Utah, saw his picture in a supermarket and decided she wanted to help him. Many people had passed that picture, but Janelle could not get this baby out of her mind. Eventually, she managed to find the orphanage where Gabe lived and began the adoption process.
Adoption was not easy, but after all the bureaucracy was resolved, she and her husband, Ron, went to the airport and took their long-awaited son. It was love at first sight.
From the beginning, Janelle and Ron treated Gabe as if he were their child. And the more he managed to fend for himself, the more independent he became.
When he was 12, Gabe could do almost anything, other children his age did, despite his disabilities. He could dress himself, he could eat, he could even swim. He could climb the stairs without any help: “I could do it, and I could do it with a smile,” says Gabe.
His parents said, “It was always our goal to allow Gabe the freedom to choose, and I knew that would only happen if he learned to be independent.”
At first, the Adams family believed that they were the ones who saved the child, but only then did they realize that this child was the one who saved them. He taught them what is really important in life, and he taught them to work hard and never give up.
Now Gabe is a little star, he spreads joy wherever he goes and makes everyone he meets a little happier, he has achieved the impossible. Here is a video about him:
