Daleyza Avila-Hernandez, a three-year-old girl, died last week after her mother took her for a routine dental check-up.

The doctor told her mother that Daleyza needed surgery to fix two teeth, which would take a maximum of 30 minutes. The dentist reassured the woman, telling her it was a simple procedure, and invited her to the waiting room, while the girl remained in the office.

After 30 minutes, the ambulance arrived at the clinic. “While I was in the waiting room, I saw an ambulance coming. I got up to see what it was all about. I thought it was for another patient, I never thought that the ambulance came for my daughter “, said Araceli Avila, the girl’s mother.
The intervention was attended by a dentist, an anesthetist, and two nurses. Shortly after she was anesthetized, Daleyza’s heart stopped beating. The anesthesiologist said that the girl probably had health problems that had not been discovered before.
But the family claims that the three-year-old girl was perfectly healthy. “I took my daughter to the dentist and they gave her back dead. I don’t want anyone to go through something like that “, said Araceli Avila who wants the culprits for the death of her little girl to pay.
Police have already opened an investigation into the case.
