Two little girls were born holding hands in 2014. Although doctors only gave them a 50% chance of surviving, Jenna and Jillian travel the world with their stories.

Sarah Thistlethwaite, 35, is the mother of two twins who grew up in the same placenta and developed the same amniotic fluid, with a 50% chance of survival at birth. Even if time has passed, Jenna and Jillian are like at the time of birth: if the two came into the world holding hands, they are the same now! That moment was one that everyone will remember: “Half of the doctors who assisted me were teary-eyed,” Sarah said.

In a desperate attempt to minimize the risks at birth, the girls’ mother spent 57 days in bed. She was very surprised at birth, when the two little ones, born 45 seconds apart, were born healthy.

Moreover, Jenna and Jillian were born on May 9, 2014, two days before Mother’s Day: “My heart melted. Even my husband had tears in his eyes. I don’t think anyone in the room had dry eyes. When we go to the store, he takes one of the girls and I take the other. They are very close. They are like two grains in a pod. If one of them cries, the other will find a way to reconcile it with a back massage or a hug.”
