A Yorkshire terrier, named Spike, is considered a hero by his mistress, after sacrificing his life to save her.
Spike was in the garden when he found a cobra, which he attacked before reaching his owner, Louise Grobler, 42.
The ten-year-old dog managed to kill the snake, which was only a few meters away from its owner, the mother of four children. Unfortunately, Spike was bitten and died half an hour later.
Louise Grobler said: “Spike is a hero, considering he attacked the venomous snake. His gesture saved my life. “ The woman thought that her pet would survive because only a few moments after the incident it fed and drank water.
