Paula Grzelak-Schultz went out with some friends and arrived at the meeting place in her personal car, but she ended up drinking too much. It happens to everyone, but, unfortunately, more than 10,000 car accidents happen every year because of those who get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol.
Many deaths could have been avoided if everyone had made the same decision as Paula: not to drive after drinking. Paula, who was with her husband, decided to simply leave the car in the local parking lot and take the taxi home.
When she went to get her car she was amazed to find an emotional note on the windshield, here is what it said:
“Dear Original Joe’s Sherwood Park Guest,
Just wanted to thank you for leaving your car parked overnight. I’m not sure if you have consumed alcohol at our restaurant or not, but we wanted to thank you for not drinking and driving. Enclosed is a voucher good for 1 lb of our delicious chicken wings. Please accept this as a thank you for being responsible. Life is valuable, have a great weekend.”
