More than eighty people were holding hands in the water – when they saw what it was about their amazement was great

In difficult times, it is vital that people come together to overcome various obstacles more easily. Even if it is a bigger problem, if there are more minds involved, finding a solution will be much easier. Unity, understanding, and acceptance help tremendously, and this emerges from the following article in which we can learn how much teamwork means, with a common goal. The message that emerges from this story is that we must accept that we are different and that we can do great things together.

It was a perfect summer day for swimming on Panama Beach in Florida. Everyone knew that the currents in the Gulf of Mexico are very strong and that it is advisable not to go too far from land. Two children, 11-year-old Noah and 8-year-old Stephen, were swept away by these currents and when their mother, Roberta, noticed how far away the little ones were, she immediately jumped into the water and swam after them. She was accompanied by three other people, her brothers and some friends, who joined the rescue operation.

After swimming and getting close to the children, the four rescuers realized that the currents were too strong and that they might not succeed. Four more people, strangers, swam after the eight who could barely see each other because of the waves, but they came to the same conclusion, the ocean was too rough. The rest of the people on the beach saw the commotion in the open sea and heard cries for help. They could not use the surfboards so they came up with a much better idea: a human chain that would reach them.

They gathered five, ten, then thirty people, fifty and finally eighty souls shook hands to reach the people fighting the waves and bring them to safety. Many people did not know how to swim, but were supported by people on the left and right and they were raised to the surface when they would sink. Two good swimmers named Jessica and Derek then swam, holding on to the human chain, to the ten people offshore, starting with the children, Noah and Stephen.

The eighty-two volunteers managed to bring them all ashore safely. A huge wave of applause and congratulations followed in unison. Roberta was so happy to see that there is goodness in the world. She was deeply impressed by the initiative of the people, thanks to them she and the children are alive.

One person suffered for a long time because of the incident, and that’s the grandmother of the two little boys, Noah and Stephen. She suffered a heart attack due to the big scare but recovered well, fortunately. Such an amazing story that proves that there is hope, you just need desire followed by that first step that sets everything in motion. Similar to these people, let’s start doing good deeds, every day, creating a chain of goodness. Share this amazing story with your friends and family!
