The whole family was devastated when Mason, 51, died of a broken artery in February this year. He had been a loving husband and a good stepfather.
His son wrote, “He was basically just my stepfather, but since I never knew my real father, he was the only father I knew.”

Before his death, the man wrote something incredible on a workbench that he himself had built, the short note was for his wife. After his tragic death, his son noticed that one of the bench legs needed repairs, which was not difficult for him because his father had shown him everything he needed to know.
So the son turned the bench upside down to strengthen its legs, and found something under the counter that made him cry:
“I love you, Becca.
No matter what day it is today, I hope it’s a good day. God really answered my prayers the day He gave me you. I know these days are the best I will have, and I’m glad you’re in them too.
I’m not sure you’ll ever see this, but if you read it, you should know that I love you very much. If there is one thing I want in this life, it is to be as good to you as you are to me. If I can do that, then I will be the happiest man who has ever lived.
I love you, my smoky wife.
– Mason ”

Mason didn’t know if his family would read these lines, but somehow they got to read them when they needed them most!
