The news was published on DailyMail and the images went around the world. It all happened in a hospital in China where doctors had surgery like they had never experienced before.

The medical team had to remove 13 kilograms from the intestine of a 22-year-old man suffering from chronic constipation. The images show the doctors holding in their arms what looks like a huge worm taken out of the man’s body.
It seems that the patient suffered from a rare condition that causes excretion in the large intestine, so this organ took on huge dimensions in the human body, making him look pregnant. Doctors removed 76 centimeters from his intestine.

A doctor at the Shanghai hospital said: “He looked like he could explode at any time”, he also said that he was really shocked by what he could see inside the young man. He believes that the man had feces stored for several months or even years due to a disease called Hirschprung, which involves the lack of a muscle inside the colon.
The intervention lasted 3 hours, but it was a success, the mass inside the intestinal part removed (76 centimeters), weighed 13 kilograms. Hirschprung’s disease is thought to affect only one in 5,000 children and is not usually diagnosed in adults.
