Everyone knows about the devastating earthquake that took place on August 24 in Italy.

The epicenter was reported in the town of Pescara del Tronto, 150 km from Rome. Rescue teams worked non-stop to rescue people from the rubble. Most were buried alive in their own homes.
One of the victims of the earthquake was supposed to be a 4-year-old girl, Giorgia Renaldo. But by a miracle, she survived.

It turned out that this miracle was her 8-year-old sister Giulia herself. When the roof of the house began to collapse, the girl hugged her younger sister and they lay on the floor so as to cover her with her body.
Giulia died of severe trauma from the collapsed roof. But little Giorgia survived.
As for children, we often forget, because many of them are capable of deeds, which even adults do not dare. Giulia became a heroine in Italy. Hundreds of people came with flowers to her funeral.
One of the rescuers, namely the one who took the girls out of the rubble, wrote a letter to the heroine.
The letter states:

“Hello, little one!
I helped the boys get you out of the rubble. Forgive us, we arrived too late, you were no longer breathing. Forgive us, we did everything in our power to save you. But now that I’m back home, I know for sure that an angel from heaven is watching over us. Giulia! Even though we never met, I love you.
Andrea ”.
