In August 2015, Angela was driving home with her two children: 5-year-old Lexi and just 10-month-old Peter.

The mother of the two children was tired and her eyes were getting heavier and heavier. The next space she could park to rest for a while was quite far away, but the mother decided to try to stay awake until she got there.
But she failed to get there. It was enough for the woman to close her eyes for a second, and their car went straight into a deep ditch.
The impact was so strong that Angela became unconscious.

Fortunately, the one who remained conscious was her daughter, Lexi. When she saw her mother in her condition and her brother crying non-stop, Lexi acted. The little girl did something that few children her age would dare to do: she took off her seat belt and got out of the car. Then she climbed the steep slope on the side of the road and began to shake the damaged car.
Eventually, a couple passing through the area saw Lexi and they jumped to help.
Soon, an ambulance arrived on the scene and took Lexi, Peter, and their mother to the hospital.
Unfortunately, Lexi’s mother suffered a serious back injury, while Peter, the 10-month-old boy, was hospitalized after he had internal bleeding in his brain.
For her courage and hard work, Lexi became the youngest person in Canada to receive a bronze medal from the authorities.
Watch the video below in which Lexi saves her mother and younger brother! She is a real hero!
